Q. How do I place an order?
A. We accept orders via post, email, or phone. Alternatively you can drop your order in to us at our trade counter. You may supply us with originals, or re-order from an existing image (via a reference number) we have on our system.  top

Q. What do you accept as a source image?
A. We can accept images as an original (hard copy) print, a digital file (usually on disk or via email), or a negative/transparency. Unfortunately, we cannot accept contact sheets as a suitable image on account of quality issues. top

Q. I have a digital file. What formats do you accept?
A. A Tiff or Photoshop (.psd) file is ideal. Jpeg (.jpg) and other formats are also acceptable, although it is best to check with us if you are unsure. We also prefer images cropped to the size of your intended print, at a resolution of no less than 300dpi (dots per inch). We have put together a simple guide to outline your options, based on the filesize of your image. top

Q. There is a copyright warning on my original. Can you still use it?
A. Visualeyes accepts material (with or without a copyright warning) on the assumption that you (the customer) have secured the rights to reproduce the image from the image owner (in most cases, the photographer). For more information, see our terms and conditions on the price guide page. top

Q. Can I claim a discount?
A. A single discount is applicable to students or those in full time education. The Equity and Spotlight discount scheme was discontinued as of the 1st March 2008. top

Q. I have an image with you, but I've lost the reference number for it. Can you find it for me?
A. We can run a search, but ultimately it is your responsibility to safeguard the reference numbers we assign to each image. Searching for your image will take time, and can potentially delay your order. The best thing to ensure a swift service is to have your image number ready when you place an order. top

Q. I had an image printed by you, but many years ago. Will you still have it?
A. It depends on when you originally brought it to us. If we printed it after our digital change-over (around 2000) we should still have it. top

Q. Can I pay for my order on collection?
A. Sorry, no. We will require payment in full before accepting your order. Your statutory rights are not affected. top

Q. How long will my job take?
A. Our standard turnaround time is two working days. We have an express service of 24 hours, but there's a surcharge depending on the quantity ordered. top

Q. Can you print on the back of photos?
A. Sorry, no. top

Q. Do you produce postcards?
A. Not as such. We can produce a postcard-sized (6x4in) print, on standard photographic paper. We do not print on card or other materials. top

Q. I have digitally adjusted my image myself. Do you need to know?
A. Yes, definitely. Our technicians will usually 'fine tune' your image to gain an optimum tonal range. If you have worked on your image yourself, please let us know. top

Q. I am unsure as to how my image will look when it's printed. Can you do a test print?
A. Yes we can. And if you approve the print and subsequently make an order, there is no charge for the test print. top

Q. Can you put my name and/or details on my image?
A. Certainly. Please see the what we do area of our site, and click on 'captions/logotype setting'. top

Q. Can you arrange more than one image on a print?
A. We can produce what we call a 'composite'- which are multiple images arranged on a sheet perhaps with some caption details. We are happy to discuss your options. top

Q. I have a colour image. Can you print it black and white?
A. Yes we can. top

Q. Is my digital file high enough resolution to print from?
A. It depends on the file. We have put together a simple guide to outline your options. top

Q. Can you deliver my prints via courier?
A. We can deliver your prints, subject to a delivery charge. Please call for details. top

Q. Can you post my prints to me?
A. Yes. Postal charges vary according to quantities ordered. Our standard post is Recorded Delivery via Royal Mail. We can also post your prints via Special Delivery, should you be in a hurry. top

Q . Can you send my prints to alternative addresses?
A. Yes. We often despatch directly to agents and theatres. We will send your invoice to your home address. top

Q. How long will you keep my image?
A. We will keep a copy of the image we prepared for printing on a permanent basis. top

Q. What happens to uncollected work?
A. We will first attempt to contact the customer to remind them to collect their jobs. Visualeyes periodically purges it's storage area to free up space, and jobs that remain uncollected after a period of 6 months will be destroyed. top

Q. I'm not happy with my prints. What can I do?
A. Of course, mistakes sometimes happen. If you pick up your prints at Visualeyes, it is best to check them before leaving. If you have received your prints via post, please return them to us with a brief note outlining the problem. We will do what we can to resolve it. top
